  Performance of plastic packaging materials

  Because synthetic materials have excellent performance, and thus in the field of packaging is a large number of applications. Plastic packaging materials, the biggest advantage is that through a variety of methods can easily adjust the material properties to meet a variety of needs; can also be made composite film and multi-layer plastic bottles, plastic packaging light weight, easy to damage, easy to transport and carry. Plastic packaging materials transparent, smooth, smooth, easy to print and shape decoration, can beautify the appearance of goods, improve the display performance of goods.

  Most of the plastic can be used for beverage food packaging, which is the largest amount of low-cost polyolefin. Commonly used plastic types are: polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, polyester, polyvinylidene chloride and polycarbonate.

  Polyethylene (PE)

  Polyethylene is the world's largest production of synthetic resin, is the largest consumption of plastic packaging materials, accounting for about 30% of plastic packaging materials.

  Low density polyethylene (LDPE) is better in transparency, softness, elongation, impact resistance and low temperature resistance than HDPE, and the dosage is still large in all kinds of packaging, but it is obvious as the food packaging material.

  High density polyethylene (HDPE) has a high degree of crystallinity, allowing a higher use of temperature, its hardness, air tightness, plastic packaging mechanical grade, chemical resistance are better, so a large number of blow molding made of bottles such as hollow container. Because it has a high resistance to grease performance, widely used in milk, milk products, packaging, natural fruit juice and jam and the like food. However, HDPE's poor fragrance, food and beverage should not be long possession of food and beverage. But it can be used with the characteristics of good heat sealing performance, as the composite film of the inner layer of material.   Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)

  PVC plastic can be divided into hard products, soft products and paste products three categories. Hard plastic products generally less than 5%, plastic packaging soft products in plasticizers up to 20% or more.

  Hard pvc due to no or rarely contain plasticizer, the finished product without plasticizer odor, and excellent mechanical strength, light weight, chemical stability, so made of PVC containers are widely used in beverage packaging. With the injection of blowing PVC bottles produced by the continuous line, the thickness of the bottle wall uniform, can be used to hold carbonated drinks such as Coca-Cola and so on.

  The safety of PVC materials has always been a matter of concern. The amount of vinyl chloride used in the PVC resin for packaging can not be higher than 1 × 10-6, that is, 1 kg of PVC resin is only allowed to contain 1 mg of vinyl chloride monomer, with this PVC resin produced bottle packaging beverage, measured in food No vinyl chloride monomer.

  Polypropylene (PP)

  Polypropylene film is a high crystalline structure, permeability of polyethylene 1/4 ~ 1/2, high transparency, smooth, high processing performance, widely used in the preparation of fiber, molded products, but mainly plastic film.

  At present, with the airtight, heat-resistant polypropylene coating film and other films, cellophane, paper, aluminum foil and other composite materials have been mass production, PP composite materials can be used for the production of containers for beverage packaging.

  Various types of PP have a common feature of static electricity, plastic packaging in order to solve this problem, generally coated with anti-static agent on the film or anti-static agent in the film. It is possible to improve the oxidation resistance of PP (PET or PETP) by applying a polyvinylidene chloride-based resin having good airtightness to the film,

  PET is a crystalline, colorless and transparent, extremely tough material. There is a glass of appearance, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, flammable, burning blue edge of the yellow flame, good air tightness.

  PET expansion coefficient is small, forming shrinkage is low, only 0.2%, is one-tenth of polyolefin, smaller than PVC and nylon, so the product size and stability. Mechanical strength is the best, the degree of expansion and aluminum similar to the film strength of polyethylene 9 times, polycarbonate and nylon 3 times the impact strength is 3 to 5 times the general film. And its film and moisture-proof and fragrant performance.

  Although the polyester has the above advantages, plastic packaging but the film price is more expensive, heat sealing difficult, easy to take static electricity, so very little use alone, mostly with good heat sealing resin coating made of composite film.
